To be honest, I’ve worked on quite a few boilers, but I’m not sure what the term for calculating the boiler’s liquid level is; there are also many different types of level gauges used for boilers. Things like drain valves are generally not part of the instrument itself; they are considered accessories or fittings, and they are related to the specific installation design as well as the design of the pipe connections on the equipment itself.
1) Medium type, whether it is gaseous or liquid, its components, and whether it is corrosive – these factors determine the type and material of the level gauge. 2) The operating temperature and pressure of the medium, as well as properties such as density, also influence the type of level gauge that should be used. 3) The size of the openings in the equipment affects the installation dimensions of the level gauge, as well as the measurement range of dual-flange differential pressure level transmitters or the height of the display column in magnetic flap level gauges. 4) Whether the level gauge is to be used locally or remotely, and the required accuracy levels, all influence the specifications chosen for the level gauge. 5) Requirements related to explosion protection, waste discharge, and pressure relief also affect the additional conditions that need to be considered when selecting a level gauge.
