In what situations is a globe valve used instead of a control valve?

Under what circumstances is a globe valve used in place of a control valve? Instead of using a ball valve?
I haven’t seen them use globe valves before; globe valves aren’t really suitable for on/off valves, are they?
Stop valves are mainly suitable for regulating fluids. As for ball valves, they have the lowest flow resistance, making them suitable for switching fluids, but not suitable for regulation.
Globe valves can be used for control valves, while ball valves work well for on/off valves. Stop valves used for on-off valves are indeed quite rare.
For conventional pipelines, the following issues are primarily considered: 1. Temperature ≥ 200°C 2. The medium flows in one direction only 3. Cost of construction
Control valves are used frequently for stop valves, while on-off valves have not been used yet
Regulating stop valve with good sealing performance; ball valve for use
I disagree on this point. Ball valves generally achieve six-stage sealing, which is difficult to achieve with globe valves.
This post was last edited by Northwest Corner of the Wall on 2019-10-18 08:44. Use a Globe valve when: 1. Adjustment is required, 2. High sealing standards are not necessary, 3. The fluid is not very dirty, 4. The pipe material is too expensive due to cost considerations
