The original condensate tank used 1400mm glass panels; however, leaks have started to occur frequently during its current use. The condensate tank is a fatigue-resistant vessel operating under pressures ranging from 0.6 to 2.6 MPa and at temperatures of 270 degrees Celsius. Magnetic float level gauges lose their magnetic properties when exposed to temperatures above 300°C. Is it appropriate to use such magnetic float level gauges under these operating conditions? Will this affect their service life? Are there any other requirements?
At 300°C, a strong magnet made of samarium-cobalt is required, and there’s no problem with that. Perhaps the manufacturer didn’t understand the operating temperature requirements and used magnets that are not heat-resistant.

Ordinary floating balls are suitable for media with temperatures ranging from 0°C to 200°C; when the operating temperature exceeds 200°C to 400°C, a cooling device can be provided. If a cooling device cannot be used, a high-temperature type can be chosen, such as one made of 1Cr18Ni9Ti; it is also possible to consult manufacturers such as Shanghai Puli Ke, Shangzi Yi, Chuan Yi, and Zhonghuan for advice
