This is how we handle waste acid: The method used to measure the liquid level is a radar level gauge, but this approach cannot determine how thick the sediment at the bottom is (one has to use a probe to estimate it). The density inside the tank is measured by manual sampling and specific gravity testing. The original poster has good methods; please share them! If there’s a chance, I still want to make some improvements; after all, “integration of the two” is required these days!

Lime slurry mixing tank: Is there any erratic fluctuation in the readings obtained using differential pressure? With differential pressure, does the gypsum form a hardened crust that adheres to the membrane?
Fluctuations are inevitable; what does it matter if they’re accurate or not? Gypsum? How much gypsum can be inside? The filtrate water contains 1% solids; how much gypsum can be added to it as pulping water? The mixer needs to be chosen properly. Density and liquid level are secondary
