How can a orifice plate flow meter increase its measurement range without replacing the orifice plate? Is it enough to just have the system team adjust the data? What is the basis for expanding the range? Is the data still accurate after expanding the range?
By recalculating the differential pressure value based on the data, it is possible to change the range, but this can only be done within a certain limit; the range cannot be increased indefinitely. The accuracy is not affected.
It’s best to have the manufacturer do the calculations, as they know the maximum range to which the orifice plate can be expanded; they have detailed calculation methods, and any calculations done by oneself will likely have some inaccuracies

It’s not a hassle to slightly enlarge the holes in the orifice plate and recalculate the differential pressure.
