I would like to ask the experts: what are the components that constitute halogens in halogen-containing flame-retardant cables? What elements are included? What are the halogen acid gases released during combustion? I’d like to know
I found some information; it involves the elements fluorine, chlorine, bromine, iodine, and astatine – namely the halogens in the periodic table. Halogen-containing flame-retardant cables emit toxic fumes when burning, and are highly corrosive during combustion. As I speculate, the hydrogen chloride produced by combustion is corrosive, and some of the fluorides formed are toxic. If this is correct, please let the experts correct me.
