Electric valves usually consist of an electric actuator and a valve. An electric valve uses electrical energy as power, which is delivered through an electric actuator to drive the valve and enable its opening and closing. Then, the purpose of switching the pipeline medium is achieved. Electric valves require a greater actuating torque compared to ordinary valves. Their opening and closing speeds can be adjusted, and they have a simple structure that makes them easy to maintain. They can be used to control the flow of various types of fluids, including air, water, steam, various corrosive substances, sludge, oils, liquid metals, and radioactive materials. Pneumatic valves are valves that are driven by compressed air. Compressed air is used to drive the movement of multiple sets of combined pneumatic pistons within the actuator; the force generated is transmitted to the crossbeam and the internal curved track, thereby causing the hollow main shaft to rotate. The compressed air is delivered to each cylinder, and by changing the positions of the inlet and outlet ports, the rotation direction of the main shaft can be altered. Depending on the rotational torque required by the load (valve), the number of cylinders in use can be adjusted to enable the load (valve) to function properly. Pneumatic valves can be used to control the flow of various types of fluids, including air, water, steam, various corrosive substances, mud, oils, liquid metals, and radioactive materials. Advantages of electric valves and pneumatic valves: 1. Pneumatic valves perform well with gaseous media and liquids in small diameters; they are cost-effective and easy to maintain. Defect: Affected by fluctuations in air compressor pressure, it is susceptible to moisture in the air compressor during winters in the north, which can cause the transmission components to freeze and stop functioning. Generally, pneumatic ones are faster than electric ones; the electric ones are designed to be used as both flashlights and tools. On the other hand, those that can be used both manually and pneumatically are relatively more expensive. 2. Electric valves perform well with liquid media and gases of large diameter, and are not affected by climate conditions. Not affected by the pressure of compressed air. Defects: High cost, poor performance in humid environments. 3. Electric valves operate slowly, and there are not many brands of electric valves that are explosion-proof ; Pneumatic valves operate quickly, and their explosion-proof version is relatively more expensive than electric ones (the price depends on the accessories used with the pneumatic valve; those from reputable brands will make it more costly than ordinary electric valves). 4. Electric valves are used in applications involving large pipe diameters, as it is difficult to use pneumatic valves in such cases. However, electric valves lack the stability of pneumatic valves, have a slower switching speed, and their actuators are prone to jamming after long-term use. Pneumatic valves feature fast switching speeds and high precision, but they require a stable air supply.
