The customer is using a Beckhoff safety gate KFD2-STC4-EX1.2O, with a 4-20mA signal input and two output channels. Powered by 24VDC. The safety barrier power supply is powered by a Siemens power module, which also supplies power to several solenoid valves on site. When the solenoid valve is not in operation, the transmitter operates at the 0 range with a signal output of 4 mA ; After the solenoid valve is turned on, the safety gate output jumps to around 12mA. Does anyone know what’s going on here? Is it the power supply that needs to be isolated?
Is the DC 0 V terminal of Siemens’ power supply module grounded?
It’s normal; electromagnets need a power source to function, and of course the current also increases.
Eliminate possibilities step by step; first, make sure there are no issues with the wiring. What is the current at the input terminal of the isolation barrier when the solenoid valve is powered on? If you input 12, the output is 12 – that makes sense ; If you enter 4 and both the output channel 1 and channel 2 show a value of 12, then there might be a problem with the isolation barrier; try replacing it with a new one ; If the isolation gate is replaced in this way, consider the power supply issue. The Siemens power supply module generates 24V voltage; connect an EB2 module, and then try connecting the voltage output from the EB2 to the isolation barrier

Separate them! The solenoid valve should be powered by its own power supply!
