I have a Rosemount 3051 transmitter at home; it doesn’t receive power. After taking it for repair, it now displays random characters when connected to the safety barrier. What’s going on? ? When connected separately to 24 volts, the display works normally, but the current is 37 MA
Confirm the safety barrier specifications.
What I’m trying to say is: have you connected the safety barrier incorrectly? Check its model – it’s meant to be connected to the AI terminals, but you’ve connected it to the AO outputs instead
The safety barrier is connected correctly; it’s the AI input port that’s the issue
Before the repair, the voltage at the safety barrier was around 18 volts; after the repair it dropped to around 12 volts. Moreover, the 475 device can no longer be connected, while the safety barrier remains the same as before
Connect a 250 ohm resistor in the circuit; try using 475 instead, or replace the safety barrier.
I wonder where you took it to get repaired. Also, this device has a maximum output of around 22 milliamps; I’ve never seen a value of 37 before. I suggest trying to use a power bank for power supply, such as a module that converts 220V to 24V, which can be plugged in at the office, or a signal generator that can provide 24V.
