Dear teachers, some Honeywell double-flange capillary level gauges used in the workshop usually show a reading of 0. When the temperature is high at noon, their reading rises to around 3%, and it drops back to 0 by evening. The level gauges are affected by environmental conditions – how can this problem be solved?
If this phenomenon persists, should small-signal resection be considered?
The capillaries should be equipped with heating and properly insulated

If it is a very critical measurement point, insulation and heat tracing are required to eliminate some measurement errors. Using an electric heating strip as a temperature control device would yield even better results.

Generally, temperature fluctuations do not have such a significant effect on the silicone oil inside the capillaries and diaphragm boxes. I guess there are air bubbles in the silicone oil. Insulation measures to thicken the capillary can reduce this effect; if the impact is minimal, it doesn’t matter whether migration occurs or not.
The capillary of the double-flange level gauge used in high temperatures is highly affected by temperature. Generally, electric heating is used to heat the capillary tube and wrap it with insulation material, keeping the temperature at around twenty to thirty degrees. The capillary of a double-flange level gauge for low temperatures is generally unaffected by temperature, but it still has a minimum temperature limit. Is there any blockage at the root valve there, and could the medium inside be affected by temperature?
