As the title suggests, I plan to install another meter on the natural gas pipeline. If making holes is too troublesome, are there any external ultrasonic devices that can be used to measure gas? I’ve only heard that GE has related products; those who are well-informed please give some guidance.

Anyway, the domestic ultrasonic external clamping type I used didn’t work well.
External clamping ultrasonic sensors can only provide an approximate measurement of flow rate; their accuracy is insufficient, and there are many factors that influence the results.

Gas external-jacket types are expensive and of poor accuracy; for measuring natural gas, turbines, rotary vortices, and Roots pumps are the best choices. 1. Turbine: Advantages include low pressure loss and a large range of 1:20. Disadvantages are the need to regularly lubricate the bearings and the requirement that the medium be clean. 2. Screw-in vortex type: Advantages include no need for lubrication maintenance, and it can handle relatively dirty natural gas such as that from oil fields; disadvantages are that it has a higher pressure loss compared to turbines. 3. Roots: Advantages: wide range; Disadvantages: expensive, and the medium needs to be clean.
The accuracy of flow measurement with external clamping flowmeters is not very high; both gas turbines and vortex street sensors can be used
