Industrial temperature sensors and household thermometers

Some owners use calibrated civilian thermometers and industrial sensors to measure the temperature of liquids simultaneously, in order to compare the accuracy of industrial sensors. The difference is not significant (plus or minus 0.2°C); it’s basically no problem. The difference is significant, exceeding 0.5°C; the industrial sensor is suspected to be inaccurate. Is there any recognized effectiveness to this approach? After all, civilian and industrial uses are not on the same level.
Industrial sensors have been third-party calibrated.
Those used in industry are industrial sensors, while those used in daily life are consumer-grade ones. Their accuracy can only be determined after they have been calibrated successfully; in my opinion, there is no problem in using calibrated sensors to compare with those used in industrial applications.
