Dear teachers, what type of flow meter should be used to measure the hydrogen flow in DN100 pipes (the diameter cannot be changed)? The hydrogen pressure ranges from 80 to 110 Kpa, the purity is >95%, and the gas contains a small amount of water. Are there any mature cases?
If the flow rate is appropriate, an vortex street sensor can be chosen. Or a throttle element, with the pressure guide tube installed short.
Under similar operating conditions, for a DN150 diameter, an eddy current flow meter was selected, and its performance was excellent.
Having learned that a differential pressure transmitter can be used in conjunction with orifice plate flow meters, we found that the elbow flow meters used in our unit do not perform well in practice; the differential pressure transmitters used are of the micro-differential type, with a range of 0–1 KPA; Especially when the testing medium is moist, it works fine in summer but poorly in winter; insulation has already been applied to the pressure guide tube and the differential pressure transmitter.
Mass flow meters are really expensive, but they are quite accurate
A orifice plate will suffice; temperature and pressure compensation can be used. If a higher range ratio is required, then use a balanced flow meter.
Is the vortex meter accurate? The domestic ones we bought for measuring natural gas are not accurate at all
