I’ve been encountering some issues while looking at the MLD-PVI block of the CS3000 recently. I’m not very familiar with the CS3000, so my questions might be a bit basic; please don’t be harsh on me. As shown in Figure 1 below, what do the terms “Data Reference” and “Data Setting” mean in the table regarding the connection methods of the input and output terminals? What is the difference? Also, under what circumstances is the “tracking mode” in Figure 2 used? If, in a control module, there is a PID block at the higher level, with an MLD block connected in series, and the output of the MLD block is connected to the I/O, I would like to ask: how can a smooth transition be ensured when the MLD block switches from MAN/AUT mode to CAS mode, or vice versa? Are there any settings that need to be made in the MLD or PID block? Thank you~!

Connecting the output terminal of an upstream “module” to the data of a downstream “module” is called data setting. Connecting the output terminal of an upstream \"module\" to the input terminal of a downstream \"module\" is called terminal connection. What you call MLD should actually be MLD-SW; either AUT or CAS can be chosen, and in all cases these values are provided externally. Does the output experience disturbances when MLD-SW is set to manual and changed to AUT or CAS?

For example, in a cascade PID module, the output of the preceding stage (refer to OUT in the table linked above) can be connected via data, terminals, or process I/O, while the setpoint of the subsequent PID (refer to SET in the table linked above) can only be connected via terminals; thus, this connection is of the OUT-SET type.
