The installation of Roots flow meters can be done either vertically or horizontally; as long as we follow the instructions provided in the product manual during installation, it will be fine. However, there are many strict requirements regarding its daily maintenance, and a moment of carelessness on our part could have a serious impact on its service life and measurement accuracy. When using a Roots flow meter, it is essential to prevent excessive flow rates that could result from rapid startup; therefore, pressure-driven startup and a gradual opening of the valve are necessary. If the inlet is opened first and then the outlet during the opening process, it is important to ensure that the valve remains open for no less than 15 seconds, with the goal of not increasing the flow rate. Secondly, it is worth noting that after it starts operating, specialized lubricant must be added to it as required. If we observe that the lubricant turns black or if the oil level is too high during use, it indicates that the lubricant has deteriorated or contains impurities; in such cases, we must replace the lubricant. Generally, the replacement cycle for the lubricant in Roots flow meters is 3 to 5 years. During the maintenance of rotary vane flow meters, in addition to meeting the requirements mentioned above, filtering protection must be installed to give them such functionality, and the dirt inside the filter should be cleaned regularly. When using this flow meter, it needs to be cleaned simply. First, the lubricating oil inside the meter should be drained and stored, as this oil can be reused. Next, the back cover should be removed, and clean gasoline or detergent should be poured into the inlet, causing the gears to rotate synchronously in order to achieve a thorough cleaning process until they rotate smoothly.
