Assuming that the explosion protection and protection level requirements are met, can the DCS IO cabinets be installed directly in explosive hazardous areas? :lol
There are ways to do this; since cabinets are present, the building’s explosion-proof requirements are quite high!
The regulations don’t say so – why can’t we take the risk? ;P

Can this DCS IO cabinet be considered an important facility for the entire plant? Check 50160 to see what the safety distance requirements are
Putting everything else aside, the ventilation requirements and explosion-proof requirements for IO cabinets conflict with each other – which one are you planning to choose?
Your explanation makes some sense, but according to the 50160 standard, is the DCSIO cabinet considered a plant-wide critical facility? Is there any debate on this? :Q I don’t see it in the explanation of the specification provisions. What if this IO cabinet isn’t for just one device? Not all DCSIO cabinets are installed on-site.
There are plenty of explosion-proof and intrinsically safe IO cabinets, such as the intrinsically safe IO cabinets of the PAC8000.
Does your project require design? Have you found a design firm? Take the cabinet to the site and see if the design agency can provide you with drawings
