Experts, I have a conical silo containing wet material that tends to stick to the walls; the silo also has a certain thickness, and it is equipped with rotating scrapers designed to scrape the material off the tank walls. Above this silo is a centrifuge, and below it a screw conveyor carries the material to the dryer. Now I want to measure the material level, ensuring that there isn’t too much material in the silo, but that it also isn’t empty. I’m wondering if there’s any good solution for this.
If there is space to install a radar, use it; if that’s not possible, consider bin weighing. If neither of these options is available and measurement is still necessary, a radiation source can be used.
There’s a rotating scraper inside; can the radar be used? Weighing is one option; you can check to see if there are any with a smaller volume of work
Can it be used for measurement without touching the powder, with a probe at the top?
Contact is needed; the insertion depth depends on the size of the items being stirred inside.
Choose a radar at the top to measure high and low levels; an ultrasonic sensor can be selected to measure fixed levels. Weighing at the bottom is also a good option! I’d like to know how you resolved the issue with the material rack bridging
There is a scraper inside, and that’s why the top radar doesn’t work properly; this also applies to the tuning fork level switch, as inserting the scraper might interfere with it. The only option available is weighing; I’m wondering if anyone else has encountered similar situations and knows of any better alternatives
Personally, I feel that if we really want to solve the level issue, we must also address material bridging.
