Question: For o-chlorobenzyl chloride (a highly corrosive, non-conductive organic substance), what type of flow meter can be used for accurate measurement? It would be ideal to achieve a precision of 0.5 grade; at the very least, 1 grade is required.
The pressure is 0.3 MPa, the temperature is room temperature; viscosity data are not available at the moment, but it is roughly equivalent to benzene.
For Croni’s metal rotameters, if the HC model is acceptable, use an imported mass flow meter instead
This medium is highly corrosive and cannot come into contact with metals; has everyone taken that into account?
What type of flow meter did the original poster end up choosing for ortho-chlorobenzyl? We are also working on this project currently, so please let us know
A metal float flow meter lined with PTFE should work; the accuracy can reach 1.0; Ultrasonic ones should work too; the maximum precision is 0.5

O-chloromethylbenzene is 1-chloro-2-(chloromethyl)benzene; it is also known as 1-chloro-2(chloromethyl)benzene or o-chloromethylchlorobenzene. Its CAS number is 611-19-8. Why does it have such strong corrosive properties? At room temperature, this product is a solid; it can be measured using a scale, or it can be dissolved in alcohol or ether and measured with a conventional flow meter. The product itself is not corrosive, but its synthesis generally involves two steps: diazotization and chlorination; the acids and chlorides present in these processes are highly corrosive. When asking questions, please specify the conditions and composition of the medium clearly.
