The company has launched a new project that involves hazardous processes; the SIS is designed to meet SIL3 standards. Are there any manufacturers of relevant instruments and isolation valves willing to offer their services, with proper certification required?
SIL3 is a requirement for the instrument valves themselves, rather than a requirement for the SIFs, right? The SIL level usually depends on three aspects: PFD, system capability, and structural constraints. For a single device, it is not difficult to achieve SIL3 for both the PFD and system capability. As for the aspect of structural constraints, it is not difficult to achieve SIL3 for instruments. However, for valves, especially those without PVST, structural constraints are generally addressed through certification using Path 2. In the absence of redundancy in valves, very few domestic valve manufacturers are able to meet this standard; it is recommended to consider imported valves.

When SIL3 is encountered in ordinary chemical enterprises, it can be considered a failure of the design institute. A protective layer should be added to reduce the SIL level. SIL3 requires full redundancy and hard wiring.
