I have a question for the experts: In a DCS system, how many actuators can be associated with one logical variable?
DCS is a distributed control system, where one logic can correspond to multiple actuators.
I have another question for everyone: as shown in the figure below, does I-01 in the diamond box represent a logical value?
It can correspond to many. I-01 represents the logic of entry number 01 into SIS. In process engineering, I is usually used to represent the logic for going to SIS. Z represents the logic for going to dcs; as for what word it is an abbreviation of, I’m not sure.
Is that so? But why do I think that I represents DCS, while Z represents SIS? In other words, I can represent either DCS or SIS; the distinction is made through the valve number – valves driven by the DCS system are denoted as XV-101, while those driven by the SIS system are denoted as XZV-101. One thing is to see how it is described in the drawing legend.
Don’t even think about trying to find you by the valve number; whether it’s XV-1001, the way it is represented in the PID settings is the same whether in DCS or SIS. As for whether I or Z represents which system to enter, it depends on the compilation instructions.
I, it should refer to Interlock. From this diagram, I can represent either entering the DCS or entering the SIS; it’s just that the graphic symbols are different.
