What is a passive nuclear level gauge? Does it emit radiation, and is it harmful to human health? I. JKS series passive nuclear level gauges 1.1 Does this level gauge emit radiation, and is it harmful to human health? The JKS series of passive nuclear level gauges are merely radiation receivers and do not contain any radioactivity of their own. It detects the extremely trace amounts of gamma rays that naturally occur in fly ash; the presence of these rays has nothing to do with whether this level gauge is used or not. Moreover, this extremely low level of radiation is present everywhere in our lives and does not pose any harm to human health. 1.2 Is it necessary to make holes in the container wall during installation, and is wiring convenient? The JKS series of passive nuclear level gauges are based on the principle of non-contact measurement, enabling true non-contact sensing. Therefore, no holes need to be made in the ash hopper or silo pump during installation; instead, a bracket with pre-drilled holes (which can be made from materials such as angle iron) needs to be welded at the desired height. The level gauge can then be mounted on this bracket using bolts and clamps (provided by the manufacturer as accessories), making the installation very convenient. The electrical interfaces of the JKS series passive nuclear level gauges use spring-type quick connection terminals. The JKS series of passive nuclear level gauges operate on an absolute, contactless measurement principle; they remain outside the container throughout use and do not come into any contact with fly ash. The harsh conditions inside the ash hoppers and silo pumps have no impact on the reliability of these level gauges. Moreover, the level gauge itself employs strict reliability design methods and production processes during its design and manufacturing to ensure product quality. Therefore, these level gauges have an extremely low false alarm rate; false alarms basically do not occur, allowing users to use them with confidence. 1.4 Level gauges are generally installed at high positions; how should they be tuned after installation? The JKS series of passive nuclear level gauges are equipped with a dedicated handheld wireless debugger, through which the parameters of each level gauge can be set. Thanks to advanced communication methods and components, the level gauge can be wirelessly adjusted from a distance of up to 200 meters, as shown in Figure 1. Therefore, there is no need to consider the impact of its special installation location on debugging. 1.5 Can this level gauge provide an analog level signal or continuous level information? In addition to providing basic on/off alarm signals, the JKS series of passive nuclear level gauges also come in an analog version that delivers a standard 4-20mA current signal. The DCS system of the ash removal system can receive this signal through its analog ports and display the continuous level information on the screen.
