Dear teachers, the German Krohne mass flow meters only show positive and negative signs – how can we determine the direction of installation? What will happen if it is installed backwards? Also, can the display screen only be installed vertically? Can it be installed horizontally? Thank you.
The plus and minus signs indicated on German Krohne mass flow meters refer to the direction of fluid flow; therefore, when installing them it is necessary to follow these signs to determine the flow direction. If the direction is reversed, it may affect the measurement accuracy of the flow meter. Regarding the installation orientation of the display screen, the official recommendation is to install it vertically for easier viewing of the data; however, it can also be installed horizontally, but care must be taken to ensure that the viewing angle is appropriate so that the data can be read correctly. -
I suggest you check the instructions; if it was installed backwards, you can choose to reverse it as well
The mass flow meter can be installed in reverse, horizontally, vertically, or upside down. The impact is minimal; the optimal approach should be chosen based on the operating conditions and site specifics. For example, if there is sediment in the material and the flow meter’s measurement tube is U-shaped, it should be installed in reverse direction to prevent scaling caused by the sediment. The + and – marks on the flow meter indicate the flow direction at the time of manufacture: + denotes the inlet while – denotes the outlet. If it is installed in the reverse direction, simply adjust the flow direction on the meter’s display to fix it
