Our company uses a thermocouple to maintain the temperature at around 162°C under normal conditions; however, when the temperature rises, especially at noon, the temperature increases by a few degrees. What could be the reason for this? Is it related to temperature compensation? But there’s a problem with this single temperature point, and the instrument technicians have yet to resolve it. Please offer some guidance!

The detection position of the thermocouple is not insulated from the environment; it is in a state of equilibrium between being heated by the material and cooled by the environment. At noon, the ambient temperature rises and the cooling effect weakens, so the displayed temperature increases. Try to improve the insulation of this temperature probe from the environment and see
It’s only this one thermocouple that has a problem; the others are fine. It’s better to replace it with a new one to avoid hassle. It’s likely an issue with the cold-junction compensation wire, and that can’t be fixed either!
Gradually, there are issues related to the cold end – that is, deviations caused by the unstable temperature at the cold end. I recommend monitoring the temperature at the cold end when there are abnormalities in temperature. Add more air conditioners to maintain a constant temperature at the cold end.
