The diameter of the table header is very important, as it affects the accuracy and clarity of the measurement display. Generally, the larger the diameter of the gauge head, the more accurate the measurement data and the higher the display clarity. However, for different application scenarios, it is necessary to select an appropriate header diameter based on actual requirements. Therefore, when purchasing a pressure gauge, different models and gauge diameter sizes are all factors that need to be considered. .

The diameter of the dial head is certainly important, and likewise, the font size and color of the markings on the dial head are also very important. The workstations designed with on-site display panels are intended for reading values in the field; although high precision is not required, it is necessary that the operators on site can see the readings clearly from a certain distance. Some manufacturers now produce digital gauges with liquid crystal displays for use in the field; these are difficult to read clearly in sunlight. However, mechanical gauge instruments with black and white pointers do not have this problem, and their dials are large enough to facilitate reading the values.

The diameter of the pressure gauge dial directly affects the ease of reading, and indirectly influences the accuracy of pointer-type pressure gauges. Generally,Φ150mm or larger models are used in areas where it is inconvenient to view the readings, while Φ100mm models can be chosen for locations where close-up viewing of the readings is possible. For applications with lower requirements regarding reading accuracy, Φ50mm or smaller models suffice. For pointer-type pressure gauges, for the same angular displacement, the larger the dial diameter, the greater the linear displacement of the pointer, making it easier to distinguish (higher resolution) ； But high resolution alone is not enough without accuracy; readings then have no meaning. So, although it’s not absolute, the higher the accuracy of a pressure gauge, the larger the dial diameter chosen during its manufacture. For example, pressure gauges of class 0.4 and above rarely use diameters of 150 mm or less, while those with diameters of 50 mm or less usually have an accuracy lower than class 2.5. .

Everything is designed to serve inspection and observation: it is easy to install and transport, and allows for close observation; for example, gas cylinder pressure gauges use ones with a diameter of 60 mm or even less. For normal visual inspection during patrols, a 100mm one is used. Installed in high, dark, or distant locations where it is difficult to approach, 150mm ones are used.

It’s not that important anymore; before, 100mm had to be achieved, and there were requirements in some situations.
