After the engineers completed the configuration, the lack of timely backups, controller failures, and issues with the engineer station made it difficult to maintain the system in the future. I would like to share my own engineering experience with everyone; please feel free to offer any suggestions if there are any mistakes. 1. Database backup, including EMDB and ERDB: Open DB Admin, click Backup Database, and save it to the directory you specify. 2. SCADA database backup: Open Quickbuilder and select Export to the directory you specify (backups are necessary when DCS communicates with other systems; otherwise, they may not be required). 3. Back up the Process configuration: open Control Builder and select Export to the directory you specified. 4. For CheckPoint backup: open Control Builder, go to Monitoring, right-click on the controller, and select to create a CheckPoint manually. Once this is done, copy the file to a default location for backup (the backup file name should not contain Chinese characters). 5. Backup the flowchart by copying all documents in the Abstrat folder to the backup folder. 6. Other backups: backups of files such as the Host file, key configuration files and custom menu files (i.e., those related to station connections), reports, historical data, etc. 7. If possible, use Ghost to create a mirror of Drive C for a complete backup
