Dinghua Radar Knowledge Lecture: Applications of Guided Wave Radar Level Gauge Technology. DHE guided wave radar level gauges are widely used in industries such as metallurgy, building materials, energy, petrochemicals, water management, and grain processing. It is a product that uses microwave technology for level detection. This level gauge takes advantage of the excellent penetration capability of microwaves, as well as their strong adaptability to harsh environments and the materials being measured. It utilizes advanced large-scale integrated circuits from around the world, along with radar principles, digital signal processing techniques, and Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) technology. It uses continuous automatic measurement to determine the level of liquids and solids (in lump or powder form), featuring long measurement range and high accuracy. I. Applications of echo processing technology: From the measurement principle of guided wave radar level gauges, it can be seen that the reflected signals contain many interference signals. Therefore, the processing of genuine echoes and the ability to identify various false echoes are key factors that enable guided wave radar level gauges to provide accurate measurements. A guided wave radar level gauge measures by processing the time it takes for radar waves to be emitted from the probe to the surface of the medium and then to return to the probe. II. Processing of measurement data: Due to factors such as the conditions under which level measurement is carried out and random noise, a large amount of noise is inevitably present in the detection signal. To improve the accuracy of detection, it is necessary to process the detection signal in order to eliminate noise as much as possible. Through extensive experimental verification, the use of data smoothing methods can achieve satisfactory results. It is precisely because guided wave radar level gauges employ the aforementioned advanced echo processing and data processing techniques, coupled with the high frequency and excellent penetration capability of radar waves, that they offer superior performance compared to contact-type level gauges and other similar non-contact level measuring devices. This is evident in the following aspects: ■ 1. They can perform continuous and accurate measurements under harsh conditions. ■ 2. Simple to operate and easy to debug. ■ 3. Accurate, safe, and energy-efficient. ■ 4. No maintenance required and highly reliable. ■ 5. It can measure almost all media.
