Coal generates a large amount of coal dust during the production process, which affects the measurement accuracy of radar level gauges. Based on an analysis of the problems that occur when using radar level gauges, an automatic cleaning system for such gauges was designed. The results of on-site tests show that the radar level gauge performs intelligent purging of its probe position during operation, which prevents coal powder from affecting the gauge and thus ensures its high accuracy. The primary gas source for purging is nitrogen.
