I have a question: How can one determine whether the I/O points in a DCS control system are redundant? I counted the I/O points using the \"Instrumentation Circuit Diagram,\" but it’s not possible to determine which of those points are redundant and which ones are not. I really don’t know in which diagram of the design institute it is indicated whether that I/O point is redundant or not. Please give some guidance, hehe, thank you~

The DCS design specifications can be referred to. General participation in control and important redundancy at critical points.
Oh, there are also some that, though not involved in control, are very important; they can also be redundant and designed according to actual circumstances. .
If you have money, you can go for full redundancy. Normally, these are important measurement quantities and interlock points. Control points need redundancy!
Generally, it refers to the control circuits and interlock points, which are reflected in the monitoring data sheet; the monitoring data sheet provides the number of such points!
The I/O list should indicate whether it is redundant.
Generally, the more important aspects are those related to redundancy; for example, the interlock points mentioned above, as well as the control loops, which are determined based on the process requirements. You should find explanations on that in page two of their monitoring sheet
