In coke plants that have ceased operations, the coke ovens are also shut down and have cooled to room temperature. At this time, if production is to resume, the biggest issue lies with the furnace. When the coke oven is cooled from a temperature of over 1300 degrees during production to normal temperatures, cracks of varying degrees will inevitably appear inside and outside the oven. For a coke oven in use, integrity is of paramount importance; otherwise, nothing else can function properly. It is necessary to repair the oven body and flues from the inside out while it is cold, and in some cases, bricks must be replaced to ensure that the integrity meets the requirements for production ； The second step is to bake the furnace. Then there are various devices on the furnace body, such as tie rods, springs, furnace columns, protective plates, rise pipes, exchange systems, etc.; any faulty devices should be replaced while the furnace is at room temperature. It’s quite troublesome anyway; the investment requires tens of millions or even hundreds of millions.
