What causes (factors) an increase in CO levels in a dry quenching furnace? Some people say that an increased coking time also leads to a higher CO level – is that true?
Under normal conditions, an increase in CO is mainly due to two reasons: first, the maturity of the coke cake is insufficient, resulting in a slightly higher volatile content in the coke; second, there is significant air leakage in the negative pressure system of the circulation fan, or the amount of air introduced into the annular ducts is too high, which leads to a slightly higher oxygen content in the gas fed into the dry quenching furnace.
