In water-coal slurry gasification or dry coal powder gasification processes, some units are equipped with an emergency shut-off valve on the black water outlet line of the gasifier and on the outlet line of the scrubber. This valve operates in conjunction with a level sensor to shut off the black water urgently, thereby preventing gas from entering the flash system. However, this shut-off valve is not installed in the process of some devices. Personally, I think it is necessary to install this isolation valve from a safety perspective. There are indeed advantages to designing an emergency shut-off valve; it is recommended to install one. Personally, I am in favor of this idea
This cut-off valve was designed to prevent high pressure from leaking into the low-pressure side due to excessively low pressure; it seems that check valves do not have this function
