Each of these systems functions like a small factory, and they all require high levels of specialization. Moreover, they are closely related to the chemical by-products produced by coke ovens. Aspects such as processes, personnel, quality, equipment, safety, environmental protection, and management differ from those in traditional coking operations. Specialized expertise is needed to manage these systems, and continuous exploration, practice, and learning are required to improve management skills.
