The gasifier load is set based on the coal slurry flow rate. A high selector is installed in the slurry setpoint circuit; the slurry flow rate setpoint is calculated based on the total oxygen flow rate according to a given ratio, and this value is compared with the setpoint of the gasifier load regulator. The higher of the two values is then used as the setpoint for the slurry control circuit. A low selector is installed in the oxygen flow control circuit; the oxygen flow rate calculated based on the coal slurry flow rate according to a given ratio is compared with the oxygen setpoint derived from the value set by the gasifier load regulator, and the lower of the two values is used as the setpoint for the oxygen control circuit. When the gasification furnace is loaded, the amount of load increases, and this is detected by the high-selectivity selector; first, the amount of coal slurry is increased, and then, through the oxygen-to-coal ratio control circuit, the amount of oxygen is increased as well ; When the gasification furnace reduces its load, the load setpoint decreases and is selected by the low selector; first, the oxygen flow rate is reduced, and then, through cross-coupling control, the coal slurry flow rate is also decreased.
