At the Jutai Coal Chemical Project in the Tuoketuo Industrial Park, Hohhot City, Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region, on July 31, the product production plan was changed at the end of June – from an annual output of 1.7 million tons of coal-derived olefins and related fine products to an annual output of 1 million tons of ethylene glycol. It is reported that at present, the company for the 1 million-ton per year ethylene glycol production project in the Jutai Tuoketuo Industrial Park has been registered ; The overall engineering design plan has been prepared ; The aerial view design is complete ; The feasibility study for the ethylene glycol project has been completed ; The initial land area for the project is planned to be 2,000 mu. The project site has been located north of Jinlong Street and west of Fuxing Road in the Tuoketuo Industrial Park (the area originally designated for the Chinalco and Qinghua projects). A total of 3,867.34 mu of land in this area has been expropriated, of which 570 mu have already gone through the approval procedures. The Jutai coal-based olefins project was initially planned to require an investment of 40 billion yuan; it was intended to be built in the Tuoketuo Industrial Park in Tuoketuo County, Hohhot, to produce 4 million tons of coal-derived methanol and 1.7 million tons of olefins per year. Once completed, the annual output value was expected to reach 18 billion yuan. On May 7, 2017, the People’s ** of Hohhot City and the ** of Tuoketuo County commissioned China International Engineering Consulting Corporation to conduct a pre-feasibility study assessment for the Jutai New Materials coal-to-olefins project; the design agency for this project was Sinopec Ningbo Engineering Co., Ltd.
