The medium pumped is coal tar at around 125 degrees Celsius; the top of the tower containing the coal tar is evacuated to a vacuum level of -75 kPa. The water content in the coal tar is about 3%. Recently, due to blockage in the inlet pipeline, it was cleaned using steam. Everything was normal at the beginning of pumping, but after about 20 minutes of operation, it stopped working! Could everyone give some guidance? Thank you so much!

This situation is likely due to incomplete steam cleaning; it is recommended to use steam cleaning combined with kerosene cleaning
Check whether there is any blockage in the pump inlet pipeline? Is the purge steam on the pump inlet pipeline leaking into it?
It’s not necessary to clean the entire pipeline; just cleaning the vacuum system is sufficient
The vacuum system uses light components, so there is no risk of blockage!
Several interchangeable filters are installed at the pump inlet; when one gets clogged, it is replaced, and the newly installed filter is automatically flushed. The specific indicators of pump malfunction include: 1. outlet pressure, 2. pump current, 3. inlet pressure, 4. inlet liquid level, etc
Check if there is tar residue at the bottom of the tar storage tank; it’s likely that the tar residue is blocking the pump inlet pipe.
Is it the high temperature of the tar that causes vaporization?
