What is the vertical height from the mill outlet to the large bag in pulverized coal gasification processes? If it’s too high, what are the disadvantages? Our design should have a vertical height of 80m.
I haven’t paid attention to this yet, but I think the coal powder exported from the large bags needs to have a sufficient transmission distance to reach the atmospheric-pressure powder silo; perhaps the height of this silo indirectly determines the installation height of the large bags
Well, I’ve seen Shell’s layout, and the height difference there is even greater than ours
If it is too high, the work done by the circulation fan increases; if it is too low, the distance for transport from top to bottom may not be sufficient. Our coal grinding floor has 18 levels, making it 108 meters high, and the distance from the mill outlet to the large bag is probably around eighty or ninety meters as well.

In my opinion, the main considerations should be the installation height of the atmospheric pressure powder bin, the variable-pressure lock hopper, and the high-pressure coal hopper, to ensure proper material discharge; another factor is the distance limitation for slurry transport.

The coal grinder must definitely be placed on the first floor. The large bags cannot be placed too low, as there are coal storage tanks, hoppers, and feed tanks below them. In other words, the energy efficiency of the coal grinding unit is sacrificed in order to ensure the operation of the coal pulverization under pressure unit.
