I would like to seek advice from my colleagues: In coal-water slurry gasification furnaces, severe scaling in the rising and descending tubes results in shorter operation cycles. After communicating with companies that use similar systems, it was found that the cooling chamber in these furnaces is about 80–100 cm shorter (the length of the furnace itself is not very different; the combustion chamber is larger while the cooling chamber is smaller). The descending tube is also about 30–90 cm shorter. Could this situation lead to poor gas washing efficiency? What are the disadvantages of appropriately lengthening the descending and rising tubes?
You first need to analyze the reasons for the scaling in your system, and then compare it with the process package design to see if the load is too high Has the type of coal changed? If it is either of these two cases, then it means that the design of your quench chamber is too small; the separation space may not be sufficient, and the gas flow rate is too high, resulting in the transport of ash. If you extend the downcomer in such a situation, it’s equivalent to stirring up all the sediment at the bottom; I think the effect will be counterproductive. See if it’s possible to enlarge the loops of the upward and downward pipes; however, you should consult the process package supplier regarding the specific flow rates to determine the most appropriate modifications
