Do heat-recovery coke ovens have any economic advantages now?

I have recently inspected several horizontal heat-recovery coke ovens, and my overall impression is that, aside from the lower environmental pressure, what is the economic viability? Theoretically, the coking time is 61–62 hours, but in practice manufacturers take 5–6 days for this process, resulting in half the production volume. According to research, there were around 30 manufacturers of heat-recovery coke ovens, but most of them have stopped operating now. With less pressure to protect the environment, what is the reason for the shutdown? The price of large pieces of cast coke in the product is high; what proportion can large pieces account for? How are small pieces of coke sold? The output is low, and the power generation is also far below the designed values; we welcome suggestions from those who are familiar with this issue.
Most vertical types have been stopped; currently, it is mainly the horizontal types that are in production. Sanming and Anyang both employ heat recovery due to environmental protection pressures. It is indeed possible to use less coking coal and more anthracite and lean coal, but when coking coal and fat coal are used together, the amount used is still significant.
