Commencement of the Development and Pilot Project on Clean and Efficient Gasification Technology for Municipal Solid Waste at Lunan Chemical / Source: Lunan Chemical Date: January 21, 2021 Page views: 31 On the morning of January 19, the groundbreaking ceremony for the development and pilot project on clean and efficient gasification technology for municipal solid waste, jointly carried out by Lunan Chemical and SEDIN Engineering Co., Ltd., was held at the construction site of the waste gasification project in the eastern area of the company’s plant. Chen Yongxian, deputy chief engineer of the chemical company; Zhang Ling, deputy secretary of the Party committee, director, and general manager of the company; Li Zhiyuan, deputy general manager; Li Chanle, secretary of the Party committee and chairman of Saiding Engineering Co., Ltd.; as well as relevant personnel from Coal Chemical Engineering Co., Ltd., East China University of Science and Technology, and Shanghai Zemach Minda Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd. attended the ceremony. At the ceremony, Zhang Ling, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee, Director, and General Manager of the company, delivered a speech. Zhang Ling pointed out that in recent years, Lunan Chemical has thoroughly implemented various decisions and arrangements made by the Provincial Party Committee, the provincial government, the Group Company, and the Chemical Company regarding the transition from old to new drivers of growth. It has persisted in regarding scientific research and development as a key engine for promoting the development of the chemical industry and accelerating this transition. Especially since 2020, relying on the Southern Shandong Coal-Based New Materials R&D Center, it has deployed an innovation chain around the industrial chain and arranged the industrial chain based on the innovation chain. It has also made forward-looking plans for the development of strategic emerging industries; as a result, the enterprises’ ability to conduct independent innovation and research and development has been continuously enhanced. Zhang Ling stated that as a cooperating party, Lunan Chemical will fully cooperate with China National Chemical Engineering Group Corporation and SEDIN Engineering Company to ensure the smooth progress of project construction and subsequent pilot tests. It aims to develop the Industrial Technology Research Institute into a platform for aggregating scientific and technological resources, a window for the commercialization of research outcomes, and a hub for attracting high-level talents! Li Chanle, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Saiding Engineering Co., Ltd.; Professor Wang Fuchen from East China University of Science and Technology; and Ding Luoyong, Deputy Chief Engineer of Shanghai Zemach Minda Machinery Equipment Co., Ltd., delivered speeches at the conference respectively ； Liu Yingchao, Project Manager of Saiding Engineering Co., Ltd., made a statement. It is understood that the currently underway project for the development and pilot testing of clean and efficient gasification technology for municipal solid waste is the first project to be launched since Lunan Chemical and China National Chemical Engineering Group jointly established the China National Chemical Lunan Industrial Technology (Hydrogen Energy) Research Institute. The implementation of this project is of great significance for reducing waste volume and ensuring its harmless treatment. Moreover, as the substitution of coal with alternative materials becomes increasingly feasible, using municipal solid waste to produce syngas (hydrogen) in place of coal will help meet the developmental needs of subsequent projects at Lunan Chemical Industry.
