Commissioning of the coal-based fine chemicals production facility at Xinjiang Guotai Xinhua Coal Chemical Project. Author/Source: Date: 2017-11-07. Clicks: 31. At the end of October, the various units of the first phase of the coal-based fine chemicals production project operated by Xinjiang Guotai Xinhua Mining Co., Ltd. began to be commissioned. On the afternoon of October 27, feeding into Furnace B in the project’s gasification workshop was successful on the first attempt. During the same period, units 901 and 904 of the BDO Unit II series were successfully put into operation for trial runs, and the BDO Unit II series of the Xinjiang Guotai Xinhua Chemical Project entered the phase of full-scale operational trials. The Guotai Xinhua chemical project in Xinjiang has adopted 2 units of the Jinhua Coal 2.0 type, with a coal feeding rate of 750 tons per day, a pressure of 4.0 Mpa, a gasifier diameter of 2.8 meters, and a gas production capacity of 40,000–60,000 Nm3 per hour; meanwhile, local North Tashan coal from Xinjiang, which is characterized by high moisture content, high volatility, high sulfur content, and low ash content, is also used. The gasifier was successfully ignited at 16:30 on the 27th, and at 18:00 that same day, coal feeding was accomplished successfully on the first attempt after the command to feed coal was given. The first phase of the coal-based fine chemicals project of Xinjiang Guotai Xinhua Mining Co., Ltd. covers an area of 298 hectares, with a total investment of 18.46955 billion yuan. This project primarily uses BDO (1,4-butanediol) and PTMEG (polytetramethylene ether glycol) as key raw materials to produce high-end, sophisticated chemical products with high added value. The main construction projects include: a 200,000-ton/year BDO plant, a 60,000-ton/year PTMEG plant, a 400,000-ton/year calcium carbide plant, a 200,000-ton/year methanol plant, and other facilities. Xinjiang Guotai Xinhua Mining Co., Ltd. is a company established in Xinjiang with joint investment from Shanxi Yangquan Coal Industry (Group) Co., Ltd. and the Comprehensive Development Management Center of the Ministry of Water Resources. The first phase of the Guotai Xinhua Coal-based Fine Chemicals Circular Economy Industrial Park is located in the Zhundong Economic and Technological Development Zone in Xinjiang. It relies on the Wucailawan No. 1 well in the Zhangnansi mining area of the Zhundong coalfield, which covers an area of 130.24 km2 and has reserves of around 5.3 billion tons. Utilizing these resources, the park produces coal-based clean energy, high-value-added fine chemical products, and new materials, thereby creating an integrated circular economy industrial park for coal, electricity, and chemicals.
There have been many projects in Xinjiang recently, and this time one appeared: an enterprise established in Xinjiang with joint funding from the Comprehensive Development Management Center of the Ministry of Water Resources. I remember having heard somewhere that **government agencies are not allowed to establish profit-making enterprises I can’t remember. It’s great that it’s now in operation; coal from Xinjiang is converted into chemical products and then shipped out. The shipping costs alone save a lot compared to transporting coal directly, which is beneficial for both the country and the enterprises. It also creates many job opportunities locally, contributing to social stability.
