The energy-saving technology of methanol negative-pressure multi-effect coupled distillation was evaluated as a scientific and technological achievement by the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association. Beijing, May 22, 2025, 09:47 – On May 20, 2025, the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association organized experts to assess the “methanol negative-pressure multi-effect coupled distillation energy-saving technology” developed and successfully put into industrial use by Henan Xinlianxin Chemical Industry Group Co., Ltd. and Tianjin Aozhan Xingda Chemical Technology Co., Ltd. The panel was composed of various experienced industry experts, including Li Xiaodong, former chief expert at China National Coal Energy Group Co., Ltd. and general manager of its coal chemical business unit; Yu Tao, chairman of Yanhua Chemical Co., Ltd. under Henan Jinkai Group; Shan Xiuli, former chief engineer and top expert at Hualu Engineering Technology Co., Ltd.; Duan Yueqin, a process expert from Saiding Engineering Co., Ltd.; Zhang Shuihe, general manager of Henan Energy and Chemical Group’s Chemical New Materials Company; and Luo Junjie, general manager of Hubei Jinkong Gas Co., Ltd. under Jineng Holding Equipment Manufacturing Group. The appraisal meeting was chaired by Wang Liqing, Secretary-General of the China Nitrogen Fertilizer Industry Association. Following inquiries and discussions, it was unanimously agreed that the \"Methanol Negative Pressure Multi-effect Coupled Distillation Energy-saving Technology\" meets the criteria for evaluation as a scientific and technological achievement. It is considered that this technology introduces a negative pressure column into methanol distillation units for the first time; through a \"5-columns 3+3 effects\" thermal coupling process, it enables hierarchical utilization of energy, improves product quality, reduces overall energy consumption, and offers significant economic benefits, reaching a level leading in China.
Reducing steam consumption has achieved significant results in regions such as Xinjiang, Inner Mongolia, and Yunnan, especially during winter (for heating + heat tracing).
