On July 10, the Guizhou Provincial Department of Ecology and Environment made public information regarding the environmental impact assessment documents for the 1 million tons per year methanol production project of Sinopec Great Wall Energy Chemical (Guizhou) Co., Ltd., which were submitted for review. Project Name: Sinopec Great Wall Energy Chemical (Guizhou) Co., Ltd.’s 1 million tons per year methanol production project. Constructor: Sinopec Great Wall Energy Chemical (Guizhou) Co., Ltd. Location: It is situated within the Zhijin New Energy Chemical Industry Base in Chadian Bu Yi Miao Yi Township, Zhijin County, Bijie City, Guizhou Province, 27 km away from Zhijin County town. The coordinates of the project’s center point are 105.779612 degrees east longitude and 26.887534 degrees north latitude. Main products: 1 million tons per year of methanol produced from coal (based on pure methanol). The main process production units include: 3×1,500-ton/day gasification units, a purification unit with a capacity of 315,000 Nm3/h, a sulfur recovery unit with an annual capacity of 40,000 tons, a methanol production plant with an annual capacity of 1 million tons (including compression, synthesis, distillation, and hydrogen recovery), as well as an air separation unit with a capacity of 70,000 Nm3/h. In addition, there are various supporting utility systems and auxiliary production facilities.
