The energy and chemical industry in Xianyang mainly involves two sectors – coal mining and processing, as well as petrochemicals – encompassing six specific industries. The clean utilization of coal has seen a significant acceleration. However, due to various constraints, development remains unbalanced; there are few large-scale projects, and the lack of funding remains a limiting factor. In addition to coal chemical projects, within the core areas of Xi’an and Xianyang, four large-scale petrochemical enterprises have been established: the Xi’an Branch of Sinopec Corporation, the Changqing Petrochemical Branch of CNPC, Xianyang Petrochemical Co., Ltd., and Xianyang Chemical Industry Co., Ltd.
