On December 7, the “Ili Xintian Project for the production of 2 billion cubic meters of coal-derived natural gas per year,” which relies on Saiding’s proprietary and internationally advanced fixed-bed coal gasification technology known as the “Saiding Furnace,” was awarded the “2020–2021 **Quality Project Gold Award.” This award, recognized by the State Council, is the earliest-established and highest-ranking **level Gold Award for high-quality projects in China’s engineering sector; it spans various industries and specialties. Since its inception in 1981, only 196 projects across the country have been honored with this award over these 40 years. The Yili Xintian coal-to-gas project is currently the largest coal-to-natural gas project of its kind in terms of production capacity among those that have been built worldwide. It is one of the four large-scale coal-to-natural gas projects in China that were designed by Saiding Company. This project is undertaken jointly by 17 companies under China National Chemical Corporation; it is an EPC turnkey project for full-life-cycle engineering services that integrates the company’s own strengths in areas such as surveying, technology, design, procurement, construction, commissioning, and project management. The Yili Xintian coal-to-gas project has won 11 awards, including those for scientific and technological progress and high-quality engineering. It holds 50 authorized patents (15 of which are invention patents), 71 innovative construction methods, and 26 QC achievements. 22 key technical devices have been manufactured domestically, resulting in a domestic production rate of 96.28%. The Yili Xintian coal-to-gas project is able to convert 6.77 million tons of coal into 2 billion cubic meters of natural gas each year, which is then supplied to the interior regions; in 2020, it generated a profit of 130 million yuan. Recently, good news came from the review committee of the China Chemical Engineering Construction Enterprises Association: the gasification unit of the 1 million-ton methanol capacity expansion project at China Coal Enerchemical, which was undertaken by Saiding Company as the general contractor, was awarded the title of \"High-Quality Project in the Chemical Industry\". This project is a key construction project under the 13th Five-Year Plan of Inner Mongolia Autonomous Region. It is also a large-scale coal chemical project undertaken by China National Coal Group to develop the entire coal chemical industry chain in the Mengshan region and to facilitate the transformation and upgrading of traditional industries.
