In solvent regeneration, the lower the H2S content in the lean solution, the better; a lower level facilitates the absorption of H2S by the lean solution. How do everyone reduce the H2S content in the lean solution? What methods are there? Please share your insights, thank you
Firstly, in solvent regeneration, it’s certainly not the case that the lower the H2S content in the lean solution, the better; unnecessarily improving the quality of the lean amine solution only leads to unnecessary increases in energy consumption. Secondly, I would like to say that “too much talking only leads to tears.” After all these years of half-hearted efforts, there were certainly times when things worked well, but there were also many times when they didn’t; one can’t just forget the pain once it’s healed. The increase in the operating load of the equipment and the extension of its maintenance intervals mean that, especially with the presence of coking units, it’s not possible to improve the quality of the amine solution just by wanting to do so. We don’t have filters for the entire line; after the heat-removing and stabilizing salts were added, they weren’t used because there was no place to dispose of the alkaline water. Operating at low load has always been an advantage of the desulfurization workshop where I work. In addition, we have two backup desulfurization towers, one for dry gas and another for liquefied gas; when problems arise with the other two desulfurization units in our plant, we can temporarily switch to using these towers for desulfurization.
