Qinghai Damei’s 400,000 tons/year polypropylene plant achieved high-standard completion/Author/Source: Date: 2019-01-11 Clicks: 4 The 400,000 tons/year polypropylene plant in Qinghai Damei’s Ganhe Industrial Park, part of the project for comprehensive utilization of exhaust gases to produce olefins, has been completed to high standards. This unit became the first production unit in the Qinghai Damei Olefins project to achieve commercial operation, 4 days ahead of the original schedule. At 10:18 a.m. on December 26, 2018, the handover ceremony for Qinghai Damei’s 400,000 tons per year polypropylene production facility was held solemnly at the project site. Li Biyun, the project manager of Sinopec’s Shanghai project, reported to the owner on the progress of the polypropylene plant construction on behalf of the company, read out the application submitted by CCCC, and signed the handover document. On behalf of the company, Sha Yu delivered a speech, offering warm congratulations on the successful completion of the polypropylene plant. He expressed his sincere gratitude to all the leaders who attended the completion ceremony, as well as his deep respect for all those who worked hard and made significant contributions to its construction. Shayu pointed out that achieving intermediate handover is a key milestone in project construction, as well as a new starting point. As always, the company will continue to uphold the spirit of contractual obligations, actively organize and coordinate efforts, and work together with the owner to provide technical support for tasks such as the \"Overall Commissioning Plan\" and production preparation. Zhu Ping, the executive deputy commander of Qinghai Damei Company’s headquarters, praised the polypropylene plant for its high quality of construction, rapid construction speed, and the absence of any safety incidents during the building process; it was the first production plant to be completed by CCCC. Throughout the project construction process, Shanghai Engineering Company remained at the forefront among various general contractors. The polypropylene plant has always served as a model and leading facility for the Qinghai Damei Olefins Project, achieving completion ahead of others. The 400,000 tons per year polypropylene plant utilizes GRACE Company’s Unipol PP gas-phase polymerization process technology. The plant area includes process units such as raw material purification, polymerization, off-gas recovery, extrusion granulation, and product blending, as well as auxiliary facilities including substation rooms, on-site cabinet rooms, chemical storage areas, catalyst mixing rooms, rainwater valve rooms, pelletizing ponds, initial rainwater collection ponds, and condensate recovery areas. During the device construction process, the project team strengthened dynamic quality management to ensure the effective operation of the quality management system, achieving a 100% qualification rate for the designed products, a 100% qualification rate for equipment and materials, a 99.09% first-pass qualification rate for welding quality, and a 100% qualification rate for the quality of individual project units. Since the project began, there have been zero accidents related to safety and quality, with a total of 1.38 million safe working hours achieved.
