We are working on a coal-based ethylene glycol project, with DMC as a by-product. Recently, the color value during DMC distillation has been relatively high, around 20. Could anyone with expertise advise me on what factors are related to this color value? Thank you
The chromophore groups are generally aldehydes, or similar active carbonyl double bonds, right? It’s probably because the impurities weren’t removed thoroughly
It contains unsaturated impurities, and the problem can be resolved through purification.
