The gas separation unit for Yushen Energy’s 500,000 tons per year coal-based ethanol project passed a 60% model review. Author/Source: Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd. Date: November 25, 2020. Views: 37. Recently, the gas separation unit for this project, which was EPC-contracted by Beijing Petrochemical Engineering Co., Ltd., successfully passed a 60% model review in Xi’an; the project owner and the project team were present at this review. During the review meeting, the owner and the project team first checked the changes made to the 30% scale model. Then, following the process flow, they conducted a thorough review of each compressor individually, examining aspects such as the operation and maintenance of the compressors, their lifting procedures, the route of each pipeline, the location of valves, the setup of ladder platforms, and the anchoring of supports. It is reported that the gas separation unit uses purified non-transformed gas and transformed gas supplied by the upstream purification units, as well as hydrogen-rich and carbon monoxide-rich exhaust gases from the downstream ethanol plant, as raw materials. It employs membrane separation along with pressure swing adsorption and temperature swing adsorption processes to produce pure carbon monoxide and pure hydrogen products. The gas processing unit comprises 8 compressors and one turbine, as well as a complete set of PSA (Pressure Swing Adsorption) and TSA (Temperature Swing Adsorption) systems supplied by the manufacturer. In order to actively respond to the company’s initiative of \"working hard for 90 days to meet all project milestones\", the project team will overcome various difficulties to ensure that all project milestones are achieved.
