Zhongtai Coal Coking: The 2B coke oven in the 1.3 million tons/year coking project began producing coke successfully. Author/Source: Sinochem News Network. Date: August 29, 2019. Clicks: 42. At 22:22 on August 27, when the first batch of red-hot coke was slowly pushed into the coke quenching vehicle and sent to the quenching tower, the coke quenching process was completed, marking the successful start of coke production in the 2B coke oven of Zhongtai Coal Coking’s 1.3 million tons/year coking project. Since the ignition and heating up of the 2B coke oven in April this year, the company has rearranged its schedule, organized tasks efficiently, and carried out construction in an orderly manner. It required technical staff to follow the principle of \"frequent measurement, frequent adjustment, frequent analysis, and frequent summarization\" – adjusting all 360 large springs on the coke oven on a daily basis, and adjusting the more than 2,800 small springs every 5 days – while also ensuring proper temperature control. The company has completed tasks such as spraying the basement of the coke oven, switching the heating method from external to internal combustion chambers for heating the coke oven, and adjusting all high- and low-pressure ammonia solutions, thereby ensuring that the 2B coke oven can be loaded with coal and produce coke. It is reported that the 1.3 million tons per year coking project features two coke ovens, designated as 2A and 2B, which are primarily used to produce metallurgical coke and gas coal coke. The 2A coke oven began operations in June, and once the 2B coke oven also started producing coke, together these two ovens are able to generate over 1,300 tons of coke products per day. The demand for this product exceeds the supply, resulting in significant profits for the company. “We have always taken environmental protection, energy conservation and emission reduction, safety and efficiency, as well as the clean utilization of coal, as core principles in building this modern coke oven. ”The company’s manager explained that the 1.3 million tons per year coking project is the first of its kind in Xinjiang to use coke ovens with a carbonization chamber height of 6.25 meters. It is also a key project for the group company, featuring modern technical solutions such as automated equipment, intelligent control systems, efficient processes, and fully enclosed operation methods. The operation of this project has not only facilitated the transformation from traditional industries to high-tech, advanced industries but also created over 400 job opportunities in the local area, boosting regional economic development and achieving a win-win situation in terms of economic benefits, social benefits, and environmental protection.
