On October 23, the 8# conveyor bridge walkway for the project aimed at producing 300,000 tons of coal-to-ethylene glycol per year by Shaanxi Coal and Chemical Industry Group was successfully installed. The length of this pier in a horizontal direction is 38.6 meters, its slant length is 39.513 meters, and its weight is 80 tons. The lifting site is narrow, the trestle has a large span, it is at a great height above the ground, which makes assembly difficult. By using a combination of 350-ton and 260-ton truck cranes, the installation was successfully completed at 2:30 p.m. on the 23rd. The inspection confirmed that the lifting operation had been carried out successfully, thereby ensuring the smooth completion of the coal transfer trestle. To date, the ethylene glycol project at Binzhou Chemical has seen an annual cumulative investment of 1.3 billion yuan, with a total investment to date amounting to 3.665 billion yuan. The central laboratory, the comprehensive building on the factory site, and the staff cafeteria have begun final inspection and acceptance; the main structure of the control room and the staff apartments has been completed and is currently under renovation. Equipment installation at the main substation has been completed. The boiler in operation is under commissioning; the unit of Boiler No. 1 has been installed and is ready for pressure testing. The civil work for the raw water system and the desalinated water system is essentially complete, and finalization work has begun; testing of various units will be carried out on a comprehensive basis one after another. The 300,000-ton per year coal-to-ethylene glycol production project of Binzhou Chemical, part of Shaanxi Coal & Chemical Group Weihua, is one of the two key coal-to-ethylene glycol projects under development in Shaanxi Province. The project is located within the Xinminyuan Modern Coal Chemical Industrial Park in Bin County, covering an area of 600,000 square meters. The total investment in the project is 5.495 billion yuan. The construction scope includes the main facilities such as gasification units, purification units, and ethylene glycol synthesis units, as well as auxiliary facilities for water supply and drainage, desalination stations, power supply, heating, and fire protection. It also encompasses storage and transportation systems, as well as environmental protection measures such as waste gas treatment, wastewater treatment, and solid waste disposal. Once completed, the project will have an annual production capacity of 300,000 tons of ethylene glycol. The by-products will include 17,576 tons per year of crude DMC, 5,336 tons per year of DMO reconstituted components, 5,920 tons per year of fusel oil, 13,440 tons per year of light fractions, 6,048 tons per year of heavy fractions of ethylene glycol, and 4,321.6 tons per year of sulfur.
